A Caroling Cutie in Winter Blues

Hi there!

Some days my craft table feels like a tiny stage, and today’s star showed up in her brightest winter blues ready to belt out a holiday tune. Once I paired her with this vintage sheet-music collage paper, she looked so committed to her performance that I half expected her to break into a very dramatic “fa la la la la.”

I had a lot of fun building a snowbank for her to stand on, complete with glittery icicles and a tidy little tree decorated in matching blue ornaments. It’s the kind of playful mix that makes card making feel a little like holiday decorating in miniature form.

Design Highlights

  • 🎶 Vintage sheet-music collage sets the festive stage
  • 🎄 Mini decorated tree for extra charm
  • ✨ Glittery icicle snowbank for sparkle
  • 🖍️ Character colored in cool winter blues

✂️ Studio Tip: A touch of white paint brushed lightly over your background (like I did to the sheet music collage, above) can soften harsh edges and blur strong contrast. It helps your focal image pop forward while still keeping the scene cohesive.

Wishing you a wonderfully creative day.

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
