Soft shimmer and layered texture are two of my favorite design details, and this card celebrates both. The Flourish Snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp’s DieCember® release creates such a delicate background when repeated, giving the design a quiet kind of movement that feels wintery without overpowering the focal image.

I wanted the background to feel rich but not busy, so I tucked a layer of glitter cardstock behind the die cuts. It catches the light just enough to make the snowflakes glisten and gives a gentle shimmer that peeks through every cutout. The branch and sentiment bring in a touch of warmth and balance all that sparkle with a natural, grounded feel.

✂️ Studio Tip: Repeating the same die across a panel can cause your cardstock to warp slightly. To flatten it out, sandwich the finished piece between two sheets of cardstock and run it through your die-cutting machine again. It evens everything out beautifully and keeps those layers crisp.
