Hi everyone!
There’s something timeless about the charm of Winnie the Pooh—and this card is my love letter to that magical world. I mentioned in an earlier post that I was gifted the full collection of Pooh stories by a teacher friend of my parents when I was a little girl. I still treasure it to this day. So when Spellbinders released some new birthday accessories as part of their Classic Pooh Collection, I couldn’t wait to bring one of my favorite characters—Piglet—to life on a card.

This birthday design is simple and sweet, just like Piglet himself. With a playful cake, bold candles, and a sentiment full of hope, it’s perfect for celebrating all kinds of birthdays, big or small.

Design Highlights ✨
- 🎂 Piglet + birthday cake – An iconic pair! Piglet’s gentle charm makes the scene extra heartwarming.
- 🔢 Embossed numbers background – A nod to birthdays of all ages, with fun texture and tone-on-tone depth.
- 🕯️ Colorful candles – Each one hand-assembled to make this cake a true celebration!
- 🖋 Whimsical sentiment – “Make a wish” feels just right for this storybook scene.
- ✨ Minimal but magical – A clean layout lets every detail shine.

Whether you’re turning 5 or 95, there’s always a place for a little birthday magic—and a hug from a friend like Piglet. 💗
I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!
Hi Jean. Your card is adorable. Piglet does kind of looks like a cute pink armadillo. I will always love pooh. I really like the embossing folder used white on white. It’s a nice soft look.
I dove on these, too, Jean! I have the collection and love the books so much. I absolutely LOVE your card. I may have to try to duplicate it with what I have in the way of embossing folders. I hope that is OK – I figure that’s your goal, to inspire readers to create.
Big fan,

p.s. Is there any chance that you meant to add Piglet’s stripey part and forgot?
Thank you so much! I love Winnie the Pooh and this entire collection is just perfect! :-). My goal is definitely to inspire – so please use this as inspiration. Oh! I didn’t forget about Piglet’s stripes – it’s just that I never remembered him having them in the books. I’m sure he did, but that part never really registered in my mind. And now, when I see pictures of him with the stripes he reminds me of an armadillo and that’s definitely not a piglet. 😆
