Sending Frosty Hugs & Holiday Cheer

Spellbinders | July 2025 Monthly Clubs

Hi everyone!

Time for a little Christmas in July and a kickoff of the holiday card-making season!

If you’re looking for a cozy holiday card with a modern twist, this one’s got all the wintry vibes! I used the Embossing Folder of the Month and the Stamp and Die of the Month from Spellbinders to create a bold yet warm look that’s perfect for the season.

The star of the show? That richly layered poinsettia, paired with festive foliage and pops of gold. I added a touch of cozy texture with the embossed knit-pattern strip—because let’s be honest, it’s not the holidays without a little sweater weather. 😉

Design Highlights 🎄

  • 🌺 Layered poinsettia – Dimensional petals + leafy greens = total holiday magic.
  • 🧶 Sweater-inspired texture – The embossed knit background adds just the right amount of cozy.
  • 💌 Sweet stamped sentiment – “Sending frosty hugs your way” ties it all together.
  • ✨ Gold sequin accents – Because a little sparkle never hurts!
  • 🔴 Modern holiday palette – Classic reds and greens with a clean white backdrop.

This card has that handmade hug feel—perfect for warming up someone’s mailbox when the Christmas season hits! 💌❄️

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
