love & friendship cards

You Light Up My Life
This card is bringing the fireworks! 🎆 Featuring products from Simon Says Stamp’s Friend Like You release, it’s all about color, cuteness, and a whole lot of heart. Two sweet critters take in the show under a bright sky filled with stamped fireworks (with a little sparkle added, of course ✨). The circular window adds depth, while a forest tree line keeps things grounded. A sweet sentiment ties it all together: You light up my life! 💚

When Life Gets Messy… Hang In There
This one’s for those days… 🐦💩 Featuring products from the new Friend Like You release by @simonsaysstamp (plus a favorite sentiment from an older release), this card mixes humor and heart. The googly-eyed birds bring the funny—especially the one hanging on for dear life—and the soft ink-blended background keeps things calm. A little snark, a little sparkle, and a whole lot of personality. 💬✨ Hang in there!

Chasing Summer Skies
This card is all about those golden summer sunsets! ☀️ Featuring products from Simon Says Stamp’s Friend Like You release, I created a layered mountain scene with soft stenciled shapes and warm ink-blended skies. Puffy white clouds, a bold sun, and a little twine bow bring out the cozy summer vibes, while the sentiment wraps it all up: Enjoy the warm days of summer. 🌄✨

A Pop of Parrot Personality
This bold and playful card features products from Spellbinders’ Cheerful Chirps collection — and it’s all about that tropical flair! 🦜 I used layered die cuts to build this colorful parrot, blending vibrant greens, blues, and limes for a punchy, dimensional look. The rich navy background adds contrast and texture with a bamboo-inspired embossing pattern that grounds the scene without overpowering it. A few leafy accents and a simple “hello” sentiment complete the look. It’s the perfect anytime card with just the right mix of color, character, and handmade charm!

Hello Sunshine 🍋 – Two Takes on La Dolce Vita
These two cards were created with Spellbinders’ La Dolce Vita collection and inspired by all things sunshine and citrus! 🍋 Each design features layered lemons and delicate blossoms, paired with a beautiful embossed background for a Mediterranean tile feel. I played with two different looks: one bold and dramatic with a navy base, and one light and fresh with a white-on-white palette. The “Hello Sunshine” sentiment ties them together perfectly. Whether you love contrast or a soft glow, these dies make it easy to add a burst of brightness to your cardmaking!

Set Sail with the Spellbinders June Clubs!
Set sail with the Spellbinders June 2025 Clubs! ⛵ I created two nautical-inspired cards using the Embossing Folder and the Stamp & Die of the Month—one is a fun rocker card (that doubles as a gift tag!) and the other features a bold porthole design. Both cards are packed with texture, waves, and charming nautical details like anchors, swords, and layered sentiments. Whether you’re crafting for summer or just love a good seaside theme, these club kits are sure to inspire! ⚓🌊

Dimensional Cosmos + a Clever Foil Twist
This card features the stunning cosmos from Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s Summer Solstice Garden Collection at Spellbinders — and wow, do they bring the drama! These dimensional blooms are shaped and shaded for a lifelike effect that truly pops off the card. Because of all that lovely height, this card isn’t mailbox-friendly — it’s best hand-delivered or sent in a box 💌. And check out the sentiment! I created it using leftover foil from a prior BetterPress plate foiling — the negative foil became a second, high-contrast version with white text on a black background. A sweet “thinking of you” moment with texture, color, and a clever twist!

Dear Friend Poppies
Hi everyone! There’s something timeless about a red poppy — bold, elegant, and full of meaning. For this card, I...

Bright Skies Ahead
📌 I created this 4.75” x 4.25” card using several charming elements from the Spellbinders Take Note Collection! I used the BetterPress Take Note Press Plate two ways: first, traditionally with ink for the notepaper look, and second, dry embossed into the background for a subtle bit of texture. I built a rainy day scene layered with clouds, raindrops, and a cheerful umbrella — complete with playful touches like a sunshine corner, push pin, and the sweetest sentiment: “Friends make every view brighter.” A bright little reminder that cloudy days don’t last when you’ve got good friends nearby!

A Sunshine-Soaked Card
This card features the gorgeous gladiolus from Lisa Horton’s Wildflowers Collection at Spellbinders, paired with soft golden tones and elegant layers. I used a BetterPress plate to add delicate script texture to the background, blending in warm ink for a soft, sun-kissed glow ☀️. The stitched oval panel gives the florals a clean focal point, while the sentiment — “You make every moment golden” — brings it all together beautifully. It’s the perfect way to brighten someone’s day with a little handmade sunshine!
