A Pop of Parrot Personality

Spellbinders | Cheerful Chirps Collection
06/16/2025

Hi everyone!

Who could resist this stylish little parrot? 🦜 I created this card with Spellbinders’ Cheerful Chirps collection — and let’s just say, this parrot has main character energy. With vibrant greens, pops of purple, and a moody navy background, it’s equal parts tropical and elegant.

The layered die cuts let you customize every feather, and that bamboo-inspired background? It brings just the right amount of texture and drama to make this card sing. (Well, chirp 😉)

Design Highlights:

  • 🦜 Feathered Friend – This parrot is decked out in bold green, lime, and navy — layered for dimensional impact.
  • 🎨 Color Contrast – The rich navy embossed background really makes those tropical tones glow.
  • 🎋 Bamboo Screen Vibes – The background texture adds just enough visual interest without stealing the spotlight.
  • 🖐 Handmade Hello – A simple “hello” sentiment keeps things friendly and versatile.
  • 🌿 Branch + Florals – The leafy accents add movement and frame the parrot perfectly.

This card is a fun way to say hello — and makes for a perfect pick-me-up for a friend, no tropical getaway required 🌴💌

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I love your layout. The embossing folder looks so elegant the way you cut into it for a nice frame. Your bird is colored so beautifully.

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
