We’ve established that stitching and I are not destined to become best friends.
But that doesn’t mean I’m going to walk past a cute ghost just because someone gave him stitching holes. 😂
The Stitching Ghost die from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® release is designed to be stitched, but I actually loved the little pierced details exactly as they were. Left empty, they create a fun decorative border around the ghost and give him plenty of detail without requiring me to pick up a needle.

And really, that’s one of my favorite things about crafting. The intended use is an invitation, not a rule. I’m perfectly happy borrowing the parts I love and figuring out what works for me.
In this case, what worked for me also included a tiny candy corn garland, because those little candy corn pieces were far too cute to use responsibly. I strung them across my ghost with a bit of twine and gave him a bright orange and yellow background to match.
No stitching happened. No regrets were had. And the candy corn may have stolen the show.
