There are cards that come together quickly, and then there are cards that ask you to slow down.

This was definitely the second kind.

One of the reasons I enjoy creating layered florals is that they don’t reward rushing. Every ink blend builds on the one before it. Every layer changes the flower just a little. You make a choice, add another petal, step back, and suddenly the bloom begins to take on a life of its own.

It’s one of the few times I completely lose track of time in my craft room.

This is my first project as an Altenew Ambassador and I’m so, so excited to have been asked to participate. For this project, I wanted to not only highlight the Altenew products I love but also keep to my clean and simple style.  So, I paired soft violet blooms with fresh yellow-green foliage to make the flowers feel light and airy without disappearing into the white background. A few paint splatters added just enough movement while still letting the florals remain the focus.
