Soft Florals & Sweet Wishes

Simon Says Stamp | Friend Like You Release
07/09/2025

Hi there!

There’s just something extra special about sending a handmade card that feels like a little bouquet in the mail. For this card, I used the Happy Day stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s Friend Like You release—and leaned into soft, painterly vibes with some no-line watercoloring.

I reached for my Zig markers to bring these blooms to life, working in gentle layers to create a fresh, airy look. The large blue flower anchors the design, while the pink blossoms and greenery add balance and warmth. A simple sentiment and a few clear embellishments finish the look without stealing the spotlight.

Design Highlights 🎨

  • 💧 No-line watercolor technique – Soft, painterly details using Zig markers for a delicate finish.
  • 🌸 Beautiful floral cluster – That big blue bloom? Total showstopper.
  • 🖋 Elegant stamped sentiment – “Have a Happy Day” adds a friendly, uplifting feel.
  • ✨ Subtle embellishments – Just a few droplets to keep the focus on the flowers.
  • 🎨 Clean layout – Crisp white panel and stitched edges for a polished finish.

It’s a gentle reminder to slow down, enjoy the beauty around us, and (of course) have a happy day. 💕

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
