Up, Up, and Hello!

Simon Says Stamp | Friend Like You Release
07/08/2025

Hi there!

There’s something magical about hot air balloons—they just scream adventure and whimsy! For this card, I paired those dreamy vibes with bold rainbow color and soft texture using goodies from the new Friend Like You release from Simon Says Stamp.

The background? All clouds and calm. The balloons? Pure color party! I used Copic markers to bring them to life and couldn’t resist adding a bit of shine with a few rainbow sparkly gems.

Design Highlights

  • 🎨 Rainbow Copic coloring – These bright, happy balloons were colored by hand with Copics for that rich, vibrant finish.  Added bonus?  Those ballons were embossed with the same embossing folder as the background and cut with coordinating dies!
  • 🌬 Textured sky – Embossed clouds and more balloons add the perfect soft contrast to the vivid color.
  • 💬 Dimensional sentiment – A layered “HELLO” brings extra pop and polish.
  • 💥 Paint splatter details – A few black splatters keep things playful and give the background a little extra kick.
  • 💎 Shiny accents – Tiny gems for a bit of sparkle in the sky!

Whether you’re sending a simple “hello” or just want to brighten someone’s day, this card is full of cheerful lift. ☀️

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
