A Felt Snowman to Warm Your Heart

Simon Says Stamp | DieCember® Release
12/05/2025

Hi Everyone!

I took a break from paper this week and brought out the felt instead! This little snowman ornament was created using the Stitching Snowman dies from Simon Says Stamp. The dies cut through felt beautifully and provide stitching holes that double as the perfect guide for hand-stitching.

I wanted him to have a bit of personality, so I added a few holly leaves and bright red berries from the Stocking Gift Card Holder die set that came out last year. For a little extra texture, I stitched a piece of pom pom trim around the edge and stuffed the ornament lightly so it has a soft, dimensional shape. He’s just the right mix of cheerful and cozy—ready to hang on the tree or to tie onto a wrapped gift.

Here’s a short video so you can see this adorable little guy up close:

Design Highlights
☃️ Felt die cuts add a soft, handmade touch
🪡 Use the stitching holes from metal dies as sewing guides
🎀 Pom pom trim adds texture and charm
🍃 Combine dies from different sets to personalize your design

✂️ Studio Tip: When working with felt, use a sharp, clean needle and a strong thread to keep your stitches smooth. Felt can pull or fuzz slightly, so shorter stitches will help keep edges tidy and crisp.

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
