Studio Notes is a space where I share small observations about card design — the quiet decisions that shape how a card feels. These posts aren’t tutorials, just reflections from the studio.
Repetition is one of the simplest ways to bring unity to a card. When elements echo one another, the design feels intentional and connected, even when the layout itself is playful or asymmetrical.
Rather than thinking of repetition as copying the same detail over and over, I often think of it as creating rhythm. Repeated shapes, colors, or motifs give the eye something familiar to follow, helping separate elements feel like part of a single conversation instead of individual pieces competing for attention.
In this card, repeated rainbow arcs and color bands work together to create cohesion. The repetition ties the design together visually, allowing the movement and energy of the card to feel balanced instead of scattered.
This card was originally shared in the Rainbows & Cheerful Wings post. The full supply list has been reused here for reference.
