For this card, my goal was to create a peaceful Easter design where the symbolism could remain the clear focal point. As I started working through the layout, it became clear that keeping the surrounding elements simple would allow the cross and sentiment to carry the message of the design.

This card features products from the Beautiful Moments release by Simon Says Stamp, and the sentiment felt perfectly suited for a calm sunrise scene.

The composition centers on the cross, which acts as the structural anchor for the entire design. Placing it slightly above the curved hill allows the eye to move naturally upward through the card, reinforcing the sense of quiet movement created by the rising sun behind it.

Color plays a gentle supporting role here. Soft ink blending builds the sky while the warm glow behind the cross creates the feeling of early morning light. Keeping the palette restrained allows the focal elements to remain clear while still introducing enough variation to keep the background visually interesting.

The layered sentiment overlaps the cross to connect the message directly to the focal image. Its flowing script adds softness to the strong vertical structure of the cross while helping anchor the upper portion of the composition.
