This card started with a love for florals that feel sculptural rather than flat. When I want that kind of detail and realism, Susan Tierney Cockburn’s designs are always where I turn. They invite you to slow down, shape each piece, and really enjoy the process.
This card was created for Spellbinders using the Wild Violets and Ladybugs die set from The Poet’s Garden collection by Susan Tierney Cockburn. I spent time forming each petal and leaf to give the flowers natural movement and dimension, which instantly brings the design to life.

For the flowers and leaves, I used Susan’s Garden Club Specialty paper. It is one of my favorites for dimensional florals because it holds up beautifully to shaping and keeps its form once the petals are curved. The soft lavender background keeps the focus on the blooms, while the mirrored arch panel and twine add structure without distracting from the details.
Cards with this much dimension are best hand-delivered, but they would also work nicely tucked into a small box for mailing. Sometimes a card is meant to be treated like a little keepsake, and this one definitely falls into that category.

Design Highlights 🌸
• Wild Violets and Ladybugs dies as the focal point
• Hand-formed petals for natural dimension
• Susan’s Garden Club Specialty paper for structure and durability
• Soft lavender background to complement the florals
• Simple embellishments that let the flowers shine
✂️Studio Tip: When creating dimensional florals, choose a paper designed for shaping. Specialty papers with a bit more strength will hold curves better and keep petals from collapsing over time. Work slowly and shape each petal individually for the most realistic results.

Have a wonderfully creative day.
