Adore You

Simon Says Stamp | DieCember® Release
12/01/2024

Hi there!

I hope you’re ready to do some die cutting because it’s DieCember®!  This entire month at Simon Says Stamp is dedicated to all things die-cutting – with a few other fun crafty products thrown in, too!

And! We’re having a Blog Party to celebrate! If you’re wondering what a Blog Party is all about, well, it’s Designers from all over the world that have created inspiring projects using the Simon exclusive DieCember® release products and they are sharing them with you on their blogs as a sort of “virtual party”.  You can find everyone in the party by going to Simon’s blog!

The amazing people over at Simon are providing a gorgeous ornament embossing folder with coordinating die for free with purchased of $100 or more in DieCember release products. All the details are in the graphic below.

For my part of the party, I’m kicking things off with this adorable card featuring the new Adore die (see what I did there?).

This was one of those cards where I wasn’t sure where I was going with it when I started creating but I sure do love how it turned out.  Has that ever happened to you?  It’s rare for me – a ridiculously large portion of my brain is geared toward planning things out ahead of time – but I do enjoy going with the flow from time to time.  Of course, it’s always nice when those unplanned moments lead to something really pretty like they did here.

This card was also super simple.  The background for the heart is some scrap patterned paper from my stash and the “you” was from a pre-printed sentiment strip!

With the exception of a tiny peak at some glitter cardstock behind the “adore”, I think this card is fairly masculine and potentially perfect for Valentine’s Day (yep, I said it).  I love the earthiness of the patter paper and the twine, with the deep green!

I hope you like this project and that you’ll follow along all month while we celebrate die cutting and all things crafty!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
