Relax & Reconnect – Inlaid Die Cuts + a Soft Glow

Simon Says Stamp | Moments in Time Release
06/05/2025

Hi there!

This handmade card was created with the Moments In Time release from Simon Says Stamp — and it’s all about texture, color, and clean design with a bit of lift. 💚✨ The star of the show? A modern, graphic snake plant that feels both fresh and grounded thanks to a clever die-cut and stencil combo.

To create the leafy focal point, I first stenciled and die cut the snake plant. Then, I ink-blended the negative panel (the piece left behind after die cutting) with soft purples and pinks to create a dreamy background glow. Finally, I re-inserted the die-cut plant with foam adhesive, giving the image subtle dimension that lifts it off the card while keeping everything perfectly in place. A bold “Relax” sentiment and a flick of black ink splatter finished it all off with calm confidence.

✨ Design Highlights:

  • 🌿 Stenciled + Die Cut – I used a stencil to color the plant, then die cut it to prep for the layered look.
  • 🎨 Glow Behind the Green – Ink blending on the negative panel adds a soft, dreamy wash of color behind the plant.
  • ⬆️ Foam-Lifted Inlay – I re-inserted the plant with foam adhesive for clean dimension that adds pop without bulk.
  • ✴️ Splatter Drama – Black ink splatter adds a touch of edge and keeps the layout playful.
  • 🖤 Grounded Sentiment – The bold “Relax” balances the softness with modern simplicity.

It’s a reminder to slow down, breathe deep, and appreciate the little things — one detail at a time 💌

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
