Fuchsia Jar

Florals always offer an opportunity to explore movement and layering, and with this card, I wanted to focus on a softer, more delicate approach. My goal was to let the fuchsia blooms feel as though they were naturally draping over the jar, creating a gentle cascade that guides the eye from top to bottom.

This design features the Magical Fuchsia die set by Alex Syberia Designs for Spellbinders, and I leaned into building dimension through placement rather than bulk. The florals are layered to create depth, but kept light so the overall composition still feels clean and open.

If you’re wondering where the jar came from, well, it’s the bonus item from Spellbinders’ April Clubs this month.  I love to stretch my dies and find fun ways to use them.

Ok…back to the design…

The movement in this card is driven by the florals and the twine. I allowed the blooms to extend beyond the edge of the jar, which breaks the boundary of the shape and keeps the design from feeling contained. The twine adds a second layer of motion, subtly reinforcing that downward flow while also introducing a soft, organic texture.

The jar itself becomes a quiet anchor. I used a light ink blend and a bit of shimmer spray to give it presence without competing with the florals, keeping the color story soft and cohesive. That balance between structure and softness helps the focal point stand forward without overwhelming the card.

The sentiment is intentionally small and tucked into the design. Its placement supports the overall composition rather than interrupting it, allowing the florals to remain the primary focus while still delivering a clear message.

This design leans into a quieter kind of detail—one that reveals itself the longer you look.
