A Pop of Red

Graciellie Design | Winter Reindeer

Hi everyone!

I’m back with another card from the new Winter Reindeer Collection from Graciellie Design!

This time, I went with a smaller image, watercolored it, and layered it on white with just a few pops of red in the berries.

I’ll be honest: I spent countless hours – and wasted a ton of cardstock – trying to color these images (with every medium imaginable) so they would be more “realistic”. I really wanted to do these gorgeous designs by Gracie justice and no matter what I did I just couldn’t get the coloring right. When I finally decided that realism just wasn’t my thing, I was sooooo much happier with the results! I think this card turned out to be pretty fantastic! Lesson learned: I just gotta be me. 😊
I hope you’ll check out this collection! Graciellie’s designs are simply fantastic! Have a wonderfully creative day!

designer & content creator

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
