Heartfelt Blooms – No Line Watercoloring

Hey there, crafty friends!
Today, I’m sharing a card that’s bursting with appreciation and floral charm—perfect for saying “thanks for all you do” in the prettiest way possible! 💕 This design features brand-new goodies from the Heartfelt Blooms Collection by Simon Hurley and Spellbinders, and I couldn’t resist watercoloring those gorgeous lilies. Let’s dig into the details!

🎨 Watercoloring With a Twist

The star of the show? These stunning lily blooms, which I watercolored using the no-line watercoloring technique (yes, that magical technique where the stamped lines vanish like fairy dust ✨). I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers for this look—they’re my go-to for vibrant, blendable color.

Design Highlights

  • 🖌 No-line watercoloring magic: The stamped outline disappears, leaving behind soft, painterly petals that look hand-illustrated—because they are! 😉
  • 💗 Textured background for extra pop: I used an embossed background with a crisscross pattern to give the white space subtle elegance and structure.
  • 🏷 Layered tag diecut + sentiment: The scalloped tag die adds dimension and frames the bold black sentiment perfectly—like a little sign tucked into a bouquet.
  • 🎀 Sweet twine wrap: A delicate white twine bow brings a touch of softness and ties the bouquet together… literally!
  • ✨ Finishing touches: A few clear dew drop embellishments add sparkle and the illusion of water droplets—so fresh and springy!

This card was such a joy to make, and it’s proof that watercoloring + florals = instant wow. The Heartfelt Blooms Collection has so many gorgeous floral designs, and I’m already dreaming up my next card using it. 💐

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
