Clean structure and contrast became the focus for this pair of designs. I wanted to explore how far a limited palette could go, using black and alabaster to create two cards that feel coordinated but still distinct.
These cards feature the We All Have Baggage collection by Sheri Ballantyne for Spellbinders, and I leaned into a more refined, minimal approach where texture and finish carry the visual interest.

Contrast drives the first design, using finish to define each element. I paired matte and glossy black surfaces with a touch of glitter to create separation without introducing additional color. Keeping the layout open allows those differences in texture to stand forward, while the sentiment is placed to balance the weight of the handbag without competing for attention.
The second design shifts toward softness while maintaining the same structure. The alabaster base creates a lighter foundation, with subtle texture adding depth in a more understated way. Layering the darker handbag in front creates contrast through placement rather than color complexity, allowing the eye to move naturally between the two elements.

Scale and placement tie the two cards together. I kept the handbags prominent and slightly offset so they anchor each design while still allowing for breathing room. That balance between structure and open space helps the cards feel intentional rather than sparse.
The color story remains tightly controlled throughout. Black and alabaster establish a cohesive palette, with small touches of shine adding just enough variation to keep the designs visually engaging without disrupting the overall tone.
Design Highlights
• Layered handbag elements → create dimension while maintaining a clean silhouette
• Mixed finishes → build contrast within a minimal color palette
• Black + alabaster color story → keeps the designs cohesive and elevated
• Intentional spacing → provides balance and allows focal elements to stand forward

These designs are a reminder that a restrained palette can still create strong visual impact when paired with thoughtful placement and texture.
