Every year, there are product releases I know I’ll enjoy.
Then there are the ones I genuinely look forward to.
For the past several years, Spellbinders has released a Halloween-themed pup die, and every year I find myself smiling before I’ve even opened the package. Maybe it’s because I’m a dog lover. Maybe it’s because the costumes are delightfully over-the-top. Or maybe it’s because they remind me that not every project has to be elegant or sophisticated. Sometimes it’s enough for a card to simply make you grin.
This year’s Halloween pup die, called Buzzy Pup-Bee, was no exception.

What I love most about this little series is that it’s become a tradition. In a hobby that’s constantly introducing new products, there’s something comforting about seeing a familiar idea return with a fresh twist each year. It’s a reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to chase the next big thing. Sometimes it’s about revisiting something you already love.
As I was putting this card together, I realized I wasn’t trying to reinvent anything. I was simply enjoying the process. The soft ink blending, the layered die cuts, and that wonderfully ridiculous sentiment all came together into a card that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Honestly, I think we could all use a few more projects that exist for no other reason than to make us smile.
