About my Card

Every once in a while an idea pops into my head that sounds much easier than it actually turns out to be.

This was one of those times.

When I saw these adorable little critters holding pinwheels, I thought it would be fun if they were gathered around one giant pinwheel. Simple enough, right?

Except…there wasn’t a giant pinwheel die sitting in my stash waiting for me.

So I made one.  By hand.

It took a little trial and error to get the proportions right, but once everything came together, it became exactly what I’d imagined. I even mounted it on a wobble spring so it wiggles every time someone touches the card. Somehow that little bit of movement makes it feel even more playful.

I love when an idea in my head actually works out on paper. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it’s one of my favorite parts of creating.
