The Sky’s the Limit

Spellbinders | Simon Hurley Sky's the Limit Collection
04/17/2025

Hey friends!

I’m sharing a cheerful, kite-filled card today featuring products from the brand new “Sky’s the Limit” Collection by Simon Hurley for @teamspellbinders—and this one just makes me smile. Bright colors, a sweet message, and a sky full of kites? Yes, please! 🪁

This is one of two cards I created using products from this collection—so be sure to come back to my blog later to get the design details for the second card!

Let’s take a closer look at the featured card for today.

Design Highlights

  • 🪁 Kite-covered background: The stenciled kites create a fun, uplifting pattern with a mix of bold green and blue ink blending—and just a splash of white ink splatter for movement and texture.
  • ☁️ Dimensional cloud cluster: Layered white clouds surround the sentiment and help it float above the busy background, adding softness and space.
  • 🎯 Sentiment that inspires: “Let your dreams take flight” is the perfect message for this scene—uplifting and versatile for so many occasions.
  • 💙 Simple embellishments: A few gems and a white twine bow add just the right amount of sparkle and charm without distracting from the kites in motion.

This release is so fun to work with—whether you’re making encouragement cards, celebrating a new adventure, or just playing with bold ink blends.

Thanks so much for stopping by! 🪁

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
