Watermelon Ice Cream

Spellbinders | Happier Hour Collection
10/28/2025

Every celebration needs a little sweetness, and this card delivers it in scoops. Using the Fountain Wishes die set from Spellbinders’ Happier Hour collection, I set out to create something whimsical — and my mind went straight to watermelon ice cream. Bright, juicy colors and a retro soda-glass silhouette brought that idea to life in the most playful way.

The contrast between the soft pinks and fresh greens gives this design a fun twist that feels both nostalgic and modern. A splatter of black paint and a few clear sequins add movement and sparkle, keeping the background clean while letting that stacked sundae steal the show.

💡 Design Highlights

  • 🍉 Watermelon Ice Cream Dreams: Shades of pink, green, and black come together for a fresh summer-inspired twist.
  • 🍦 Fountain Wishes Focal: The die set builds perfect dimension with layers that mimic dripping ice cream and glossy detail.
  • 🎉 Sentiment Style: “Have the sweetest birthday” adds just the right cheerful note for any celebration.
  • 🩷 Playful Color Story: High-contrast tones make the design pop against the white background.
  • ✨ Finishing Sparkle: Clear sequins add a bit of shimmer to complete the look.

This one feels like summer in paper form — sweet, bright, and full of joy.

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
