Zooming In on the Little Things

Spellbinders | Field Notes Collection
04/23/2025

Hey there, crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a card that’s all about detail—perfectly captured with this sweet scene I created using products from the Field Notes Collection by @teamspellbinders. I had so much fun playing with the botanical elements and that sparkly magnifying glass—it’s like a tiny paper adventure on a card! 🌿💜

Whether you’re sending thanks or just love making nature-inspired cards, this collection delivers charm with every die cut.

Design Highlights

🔍 Dimensional magnifying glass: I added acetate and a glittery frame and focused it over one of the blooms for a fun “zoomed-in” detail!

🌿 Layered wildflowers: The thistle-style blooms are ink-blended for softness and dimension, with delicate stems and leaves to bring the whole scene to life.

📎 Vintage-style tape accent: A little strip of faux “tape” grounds the florals and adds a subtle, naturalist field journal vibe—like a specimen lovingly preserved.

🖋️ Clean and simple sentiment: “Thank you for your generosity” is clean, simple, and heartfelt—ideal for a thoughtful note.

✨ Textured background + sparkle: The subtle embossed base adds quiet structure, while a few gem embellishments bring in just the right touch of shine.

This project was such a joy to put together—an ode to quiet beauty and gratitude. The Field Notes Collection is perfect for nature lovers, journal-style creators, or anyone who just loves a good floral moment 🌸

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
