Let it Snow – With Color-Coordinated Flare

Spellbinders | Simon Hurley North Pole Friends Collection
07/18/2025

Hi everyone!

These two bundled-up polar bears are here to bring some serious winter cheer! I created this frosty, fun card using products from Spellbinders’ Simon Hurley North Pole Friends Collection—and the color palette? Totally inspired by the new Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack

I used the graphic in the Color Deck – and the Color Swatch Petal Stack – to match colors from the deck to Spellbinders’ ColorWheel cardstock, and I love how it pulled everything together—warm hats, cozy scarves, and all. This scene is wintery without being too traditional, with a fun pop of color that feels fresh and modern.

Design Highlights

  • 🐾 Layered polar bear duo – All dressed up in winter gear and full of charm.
  • 🎨 Coordinated color palette – Built using the Holiday DIY Color Deck + Petal Stack, matched to ColorWheel cardstock.
  • 🌲 Die-cut pine trees – A little greenery to anchor the snowy scene.
  • ✨ Clear embellishments – Like tiny snowflakes drifting through the background.
  • 💬 Playful sentiment banner – “Let it Snow” sets the tone for a cozy winter vibe.

This card feels just right for chilly days, warm hugs, and all the handmade magic of the season. ❄️💌

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
