Sweet as Pie

10/20/2022

Hi everyone!

This week was my husband’s birthday! I made him a pie. On a card. Because I don’t bake. 🙂

Trust me, the card version is way better! And WAY easier!

I started out by using a combination of ink-blending and Copic-coloring on the die cuts that made up the pie and the little apple slices. I then assembled them using liquid glue. I die cut the “Sweet” word sentiment three times out of black cardstock and adhered all of them together so that the word would have some added dimension. I die cut the stitched panel and temporarily placed all my pieces where I wanted themso I could figure out where I wanted to stamp the rest of the sentiment.
After that, it was just a matter of assembling all the pieces, popping the panel up on a black mat, and adhering it to my card front. Oh! And I added a few drip drops for some shine. Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
