Vivid Blooms Card #3:  Soft Pastels

Spellbinders | Vivid Expressions Release
01/15/2025

Hi everyone!

I’m back with a third card I created  using the Vivid Blooms dies from the Spellbinders Vivid Expressions Release. You can find the other two cards here and here.  This collection is truly inspiring, and I had a great time exploring some of its creative possibilities.

For this card, I wanted to keep things soft and cheerful. The florals take center stage with layered details that bring a lot of dimension. I paired them with a mirrored arch diecut and added a simple, skripty “thanks” sentiment to tie it all together. (NOTE:  the “thanks” die I used has been retired; I’ve linked a similar scripty die set in the Supplies below).  A few small embellishments and subtle layering give it just the right amount of charm without feeling overdone.

What I love most about this release is how versatile it is. Whether you’re going for bold and vibrant (like this card), white on white (like this card), or soft and elegant like the one here, there’s no end to what you can create.

I’d love to hear what you think so be sure to leave a comment below!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
