Swatching & Color Combos!

Spellbinders | ColorWheel Cardstock Collection
03/16/2025

Hi everyone!

I was on vacation when Spellbinders launched their new ColorWheel Card Stock, but you better believe that as soon as I got home, I dove right into creating my swatches! There’s something so satisfying about organizing and playing with color, and this collection did not disappoint.

I started out with the swatches so I had a chance to really look over every one of the new colors. It was so much fun and so relaxing. Spellbinders has all of the dies and stamps you need to create beautiful swatches with this new card stock collection.

This solid-core, 100# heavy-weight card stock is incredibly smooth—perfect for crafting. And let me tell you, it die cuts like butter! No rough edges, no tearing, just crisp, clean cuts every time.

Of course, I couldn’t stop at just a full set of swatches—I had to play around with some color combos too! Here are three that I’m loving right now – I’ve tried to pair them with some lovely florals that highlight the color combos just for some added inspiration:

🎨 Soft & Serene: Mint, Waterfall, Oceanside, Dahlia, Blush and Chiffon – A dreamy, ocean-inspired mix with soft pastels and deep teal accents.

🌞 Bold & Bright: Cascade, Cosmic Sky, Saffron, Beeswax, Rainforest, and Fern – A high-contrast blend of warm golden hues with deep blues and rich greens.

💜 Floral & Fresh: Chiffon, Rainforest, Fern, Orchid, and Mulberry – A mix of soft neutrals and jewel-toned purples for a perfect floral-inspired palette.

I love how easy it is to mix and match these shades, and having swatches on hand makes it even more fun to plan projects! Have you checked out the Spellbinders ColorWheel Card Stock yet? Let me know your favorite color combos in the comments!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Super pretty cardstock. Great job showing the colors w/ real-life items. Just have soooo much already that I can’t justify buying more. Maybe for my b-day?

Hi Lori! I completely understand! I was fortunate enough to get samples so I could really see how nice it is. Of course, then I fell in love with it and had to have it! LOL! So, I made a commitment to myself that if I bought it, I needed to use it – and that’s my goal. Fingers crossed I stick to it!🤞

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
