A Bit of Balance and Lots of Love

Simon Says Stamp | To Love Release
12/19/2024

Hi there!

My Christmas and Hanukkah cards are made and mailed and I’m gearing up for an incredible holiday week. I hope you are, too!

I don’t know about you, but even though I love the holiday season, I find that the hustle-and-bustle is best balanced with some relaxing crafty time!

So, today, I’m sharing a card I made between shopping and wrapping sessions.  It features the new Exotic Blooms die from today’s Simon Says Stamp release.  I hope it inspires you to take a quick break and make something beautiful!

To make this card I die cut all of the pieces from the Exotic Blooms die and ink-blended them to give them some color (affiliate links to the inks I used are in the Supplies section below).

I assembled the flowers using liquid glue except that I used a small foam square to give the front (pinky-purple) portion of the flower a little dimension.

Next, I die cut a heart and stamped my sentiment before arranging the flowers on the heart.

I ink-blended a bit of blue on a panel, then tied a piece of twine around it.  I used foam adhesive to adhere the heart over the top of the twine.

I used double sided tape to adhere the panel to a card front and added a few gems for some sparkle.

I hope you like this project and that you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
