A Box of Chocolates

Simon Says Stamp | To Be Loved Release
01/30/2025

Hi there!

This card features the adorable Sweet Treats stamp and stencil set from Simon Says Stamp’s To Be Loved release.

For the box of chocolates, I used soft ink-blending with the coordinating stencil, then added depth with colored pencils.

I didn’t have my coordinating dies for this set so I fussy cut the box of chocolates and popped it up on a background that I ink-blended using the new Funky Hearts stencil.  I only used 2 of the stencils in the set and kept the ink blending very light so it didn’t distract from the box of candy, but I think it adds to the playfulness of this card.

I added  the “Love You” sentiment, making this card  perfect for Valentine’s Day, but you could use the candy box or any occasion when you want to share a little sweetness.

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

This is beautiful, Jean. I appreciate the less-traditional emphasis on purple instead of red/pink – such a great color scheme you’ve chosen. GREAT card.

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
