Set Sail

Hi everyone!

Have you ever been sailing?  Last year I went on a cruise through the Balearic Islands on a “tall ship” (a large sailboat with 7 masts).  We encountered some pretty rough seas for a couple of days but other than that, the trip was amazing, and I came away with some treasured memories.

The sailboat on my card today is nowhere near the size of the tall ship I was on, but it still takes me back to that trip in my mind and makes me smile.

This is a super easy card to make:

  1. Use the Uncharted Waters layering stencil to stencil the seascape background.
  2. Trim the stenciled panel to 5 x 3.75 inches and attach it to your card base with liquid glue or tape runner.
  3. Die cut the pieces for the sailboat and assemble them.
  4. Cut a piece of vellum so that it is large enough to go behind the sailboat but smaller than the stenciled background.
  5. Use liquid glue to adhere your sailboat to the vellum.
  6. Place foam squares on the vellum behind the sailboat and attach it to the card front.
  7. Add a sentiment to your card front.  I created mine with hot foil to add a bit of shine to the card but you could use any sentiment.
  8. Add a couple of gems for some shine.

Let me know in the comments if your cards ever bring back memories!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!
