A Little Wisdom from the 100 Acre Wood

Spellbinders | Classic Pooh Collection
07/22/2025

Hi everyone!

This card holds a very special place in my heart. As someone who grew up with the Winnie the Pooh stories—gifted to me by a dear teacher friend of my parents—anything connected to the 100 Acre Wood instantly brings back that cozy, childhood wonder. So when I saw Spellbinders’ Classic Pooh Collection, I couldn’t resist creating something inspired by the characters I’ve always loved.

This sweet owl (clearly inspired by the ever-wise Owl himself) is perched and ready to celebrate. I paired him with a warm, golden background, a few shiny sequins, and a sentiment that feels straight out of a hand-addressed letter from Owl’s treehouse.

Design Highlights 📜

  • 🦉 Charming layered owl – Perched with a pencil and scroll, full of personality and poise.
  • 🌅 Golden ink-blended background – A soft glow that hints at storytelling at sunset.
  • 💌 Sentiment with vintage charm – “Many happy returns of the day!” feels so Owl.
  • ✨ Gold sequin accents – Just a hint of shine to make it feel extra special.
  • 🌿 Branch detail – Because of course he needs the perfect perch!

This card is a little nod to the stories that sparked my imagination as a child—and still warm my heart as an adult. 💛.

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I like the layout of your card. The colorful vertical strip really is striking and it has great balance.

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
