Hello everyone!
Time for another Challenge! This time I’m participating in the Altenew January 2021 Inspiration Challenge. For this challenge we are given a picture that serves as the inspiration for the card we make.
The picture to the right is the inspiration for this month’s card.
I decided to go a little non-traditional for this card. I used the Altenew Craft-a-Flower Snowdrops layering dies but instead of making my snowdrops white like they usually are, I made them shades of magenta and pink. I love the magentas and grays in the inspiration photo!
To get the variation in the petals, I loosely painted a piece of watercolor paper with an Altenew Purple Wine watercolor brush marker and a bit of water – making sure I had intense color in some areas and more diluted color in others. I waited (impatiently) for the watercolor to dry before I cut them with the dies.
To get the grays I used the leaves and stems from the die set and cut the pieces from gray cardstock and vellum.
I assembled my flowers, stems, and leaves on a piece of Bazzill Linen White cardstock and then mounted that with foam tape onto my card front.
For the sentiment, I cut the Altenew Fancy Thanks die out of black cardstock 3 times and glued them together to get some dimension for the sentiment. I then adhered that to the card front.
I finished the card by adding a few Pretty Pink Posh dew drops to give the card the look of melting snow that’s in the picture.
I hope you like this card! I had so much fun participating in this challenge and I hope you find something to challenge you creatively today, too!
All the best,
So beautifully done!
Thank you so much!
So different, but so pretty, in those wintry colors.
