Joy & Peace

Simon Says Stamp | Sugar and Spice Release
10/23/2025

Hi there!

Sometimes all it takes is one bold design element to carry a whole card, and this oversized snowflake stencil from Simon Says Stamp’s new Sugar and Spice release is proof. Paired with a vibrant background, it creates a modern, festive look that feels both joyful and peaceful at once.

To bring out the snowflake, I reached for my Distress Spray Stains. A few spritzes later, I had a rich, distressed watercolor background full of texture and depth. With a gold-foiled sentiment and just a touch of twine, the card came together in a way that feels polished but still playful.

Design Highlights

✨ Distress Spray Stains layered for a bold, watercolor-style background.
❄️ Oversized snowflake stencil for a clean and modern winter focal point.
💛 Gold foiled “joy” sentiment paired with “& peace” for classic holiday elegance.
🎀 A strand of gold twine tied at the top for extra texture and sparkle.
🌟 White and gold paint splatters to keep the snowy vibe going.

And that’s my take on this bold holiday look—simple, colorful, and full of wintry cheer!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
