Hi there!
I’m back with another floral card today – this one with dimensional lilacs on a woodgrain backdrop.
This card, along with this one, were cards I made last week when I was lamenting the loss of summer sunshine and warm breezes.
I am still lamenting. <heavy sigh>
As someone who loves Spring and Summer, the cold and gloom of fall and winter, with their shorter days, always seems to take a bit of a toll on me. But spending time creating cards with cheerful flowers seems to warm me and making this card definitely helped.

To make this card, I used the Altenew Lilacs dies which I purchased when they were first released in October. I love lilacs. They were my dad’s favorite flower, and they bring back some lovely memories of him whenever I see them.
I followed the layering guide included with the die set to ink-blend and assemble the different blossoms of the lilac. I adhered the assembled piece to a woodgrain background that I created using the Deck Planks embossing folder and wrapped the full panel with a piece of twine and tied it with a bow. I stamped my sentiment on my card base, then popped the flower/wood grain panel up using foam adhesive. A few gems for some sparkle amongst the blossoms and this card was complete.

I am a fan of clean and simple cards, and I think this one definitely fits that category.
I appreciate you stopping by my blog today. I hope you like this card and that it inspires you to create something beautiful.
Have a wonderfully creative day!
This is stunning! Great job!!
I love the winter because I love getting warm by a fireplace (which I have) and baking (which I do) and crafting (which I try to do but it’s tough b/c I have little time). Never fear, Jean, the sun and warmth will come again!

The simplicity of the woodgrain really sets these lilac blooms off! This is a show stopper, Jean!
Jean, your Lilac card is so beautiful. I love the 3-D and the wood looking panel behind it brings so much interest.
Beautiful card. It’s fresh and uplifting.
Thank you!💜
