Spring Birthday

Simon Says Stamp | Be Bold Release
04/02/2024

Hi there!

I’ve been having fun with stencils lately, so I wanted to share this sweet birthday card I made using the Groovy Blooms layering stencil from the Simon Says Stamp “Be Bold” release that’s out now.  If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out the release, I hope you do!  It is packed with wonderful products – and don’t forget to page through the designs for each to see all the amazing inspiration!

For my card, I ink blended the layering stencils and then fussy cut the flowers out to arrange them on my card.  I admit that I don’t usually think to do this – my default is to ink blend the full panel and use it in its entirety – but this time, I wanted to do something a little different and I always love it when I can stretch my supplies by using them in ways that may not be obvious.

I popped my blooms up on an ink-blended panel and then sprayed it with a shimmer spray.  I then added a shiny silver foiled sentiment and a few dazzling gems!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope this card helps you to think about your stencils a little differently and that it inspires you to make something beautiful.

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
