A Little Edge… A Little Softness

Spellbinders | Yana's Daisies Collection

Hello crafty friends!

I’ve got another daisy design to share—this one’s all about drama meets elegance. I used the Yana’s Daisies die set from the new Yana’s Daisies Collection at Spellbinders and went bold with deep, saturated ink blending and layered paper-piecing. This card has a little edge, a little softness, and a whole lot of handmade heart 💜

Design Highlights

  • 🌈 Dramatic ink blending: I used Picked RaspberryMustard Seed, and a touch of Black Soot to create glowing, high-contrast petals and centers.
  • ✂️ Paper-pieced blooms: After blending, I paper-pieced the daisy petals together inside a black outline for extra dimension and depth. They seriously pop against that soft background!
  • 🎀 Simple black twine wrap: Tied low and neat, the twine balances the bold florals and adds a little texture.
  • 🖤 Muted background + paint splatter: A soft, ink blend and some black + white paint splatters create just enough backdrop to let the flowers shine.
  • 💬 Minimalist sentiment: A clean “Dear Friend” label says it all without stealing the spotlight.

This card was a fun change of pace—moody, modern, and still blooming with love 🌸 The Yana’s Daisies Collection is a must-have for bold floral fans!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
