Feather Spiral

Simon Says Stamp | Celebrate Release
05/11/2024

Hi there!

Today I’m popping in to quickly share this beautiful textured card I made using the new Feather Spiral embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp.  This folder is so beautiful!  I love all the detail and dimension it gives!

To make this card:

  1. Use the A2 Scalloped Rectangle masks to ink blend a scalloped rectangle on a white card panel.  The colors I used are listed below in the Supplies.
  2. With the stencil still in place, lightly mist the panel with a shimmer spray, then remove the stencil.
  3. Place the still-damp panel inside the embossing folder and run it through your die cutting machine.  If the panel is too dry, you can mist the back side with a bit of water.  You want your panel slightly damp so that the embossing does not crack the paper.
  4. Set the panel aside to dry completely.
  5. While you’re waiting for the panel to dry, cut a sentiment from the Let’s Party Sentiments sheets.
  6. Once the panel is completely dry, gently/lightly wipe a white pigment ink pad across the top of the panel.  A light touch is required!  This will apply a white ink to the raised areas of the design.   Note that sometimes the colors you ink-blended will get onto your white pigment pad when you do this, so be sure to wipe the pad to get the color off when you are done. You cannot tell in the pictures, but some of the blue from my ink blending did get onto the raised white areas of the card.  I love the look of it because it adds to the design, but, depending on the look you are going for, this might not be ideal.
  7. Use foam adhesive to add your sentiment strip.
  8. Add a few gems for even more sparkle!

I hope you like this card and that it inspires you make something beautiful today!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
