Hello, Daisies!

Hi everyone!

Do you have a favorite flower?  I have a few – and daisies are one of them!  In fact, I love them so much they were part of my wedding bouquet (that was almost 24 years ago – but they’re still a classic)!

Did you know that daisy flowers are actually two flowers in one?  The outside petals are considered one flower and the center is actually a tiny cluster of petals and is considered a second flower!  I know, I know, random weird flower fact stuck into this blog post for a card, but I couldn’t help myself! 🙂

All this talk about daisies leads me to the card I’m sharing today featuring the Daisy Heads die set from the recent Simon Says Stamp “Just A Note” release. It includes dies to create two different sized daisies – each with two layers of petals and a center.

For my card, I die cut the daisies and the Delicate Leafy Branch from white cardstock and ink blended them.  Before assembling them, I splattered them with gold and white paint.  I also splattered the background with gold ink.  Used gold embossing powder to emboss the sentiment and assembled my card using glue and foam adhesive.  I finished the card with a few glitter drops.

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
