A Bit Like Magic

Hi there!

Every Friday my best friend and I get together for “Happy Hour”.  We have been doing this for years and we rarely miss a Friday.  We meet up at a restaurant as soon as we can break from our day jobs. We settle in for a drink, dinner, and then talk about our week.

This week’s Happy Hour was particularly fun – with lots of post-holiday stories and a ton of laughs – so I was still thinking about it the next day when I went into my craft room to work on a few cards.

<cue Twilight Zone music>

When I walked in, the only thing I had out on my desk was a stencil set waiting to be used.  The next thing I knew, I was putting gems on two completed cards!

I must have been totally distracted by my thoughts because I barely remember making these cards.  If it weren’t for my stomach growling loudly and breaking me out of my revelry, I probably would have made a few more!

It all felt a bit like magic!

Has this ever happened to you?

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
